NEW! We're proud to introduce the online QA Training! By using Skype or Facetime, this course is completed in 8-hours, and it is entirely done online. Successful completion will earn you a Diploma and the "GVAP-QA" title.
Then, as a registered QA of the Global Vessel Assessment Program, you will be able to evaluate yachts as per the Vessel Assessment Standard v1.0 guidelines, and submit certifications to the Global Yacht Registry, a must for all respectable yacht owners looking to promote their offering. This Registry is a unique distribution channel set to launch in summer 2017, and will be an important shopping platform for travel agents, OTA's, tour operators and charter companies worldwide. This is what the yacht industry has been waiting for and it's finally coming this summer!
Who is this training for?
- Individuals ready for a passionate career
- Individuals looking for additional income
- Marina owners ready to train their employees and offer this service to their valuable clients
- Charter companies and brokers ready to promote their yachts on the Global Yacht Registry
The training is available in either English or French, but note that all documentation is currently only in English.
Please note: you do not need to be technical! An assessment under the GVAP is not like a marine survey, where for example you measure humidity in fiberglass, or check for osmosis. The GVAP is more of a collection of information, to define what the rental or charter is offering, and importantly, as per the standard, give the boat a rating, much like a star rating that we see for hotels and restaurants. The training is very straight forward and based on common sense. Again, if you're passionate about boats, you'll find it easy and love this job!
Register now for the new online training and become one of the first Qualified Assessors of this exciting new program.
Regarding the course pricing, it is actually very competitive. Where else can you be trained for this price? You obtain a diploma and become a registered QA of the GVAP, which gives you exclusive rights to performing assessments. You also have everything you need to start working immediately. As for compensation, your revenu is entirely based on commission, where you make 35% commission on the first 50 boats, then 45% afterwards. This means that with your first few assessments, you pay back your training! Indeed, here is an example: if the average length of the boat is 40 feet, this means your commission is $140 USD per boat. If you do 2 boats per day, after a 5-day week, that's 10x$140 = $1400 USD. After 50 boats, your commission goes up to 45% meaning even more money. So do the math, it's a great opportunity!
