Connecting Yacht Vacations to the Travel Industry!
The Global Vessel Assessment Program Inc is an initiative to set-up a centralized database of yachts available world-wide for rent and charter. This new database is called the Global Yacht Registry and aims to be a powerful distribution channel for yacht owners, brokers and charter companies.
The amazing advantage of this Registry is that it connects the Travel Industry to yacht vacations. The Travel Industry has enhanced exposure to potential customers through travel agents, online travel agencies and Tour Operators. Furthermore, since the Registry is managed by the Program, it is focused on normalizing yacht charter details, all based on a proprietary standard.
The Registry is available to all these users and subscribers:
- Internet consumers surfing the web
- Travel Agents
- Online Travel Agencies (OTA)
- and Tour Operators
Of course, the Registry will also be used by charter companies and brokers who are promoting their own yachts. Customers will be refered to them directly.
The Global Yacht Registry is the best solution to promoting yacht rentals and charters. Indeed, everyone will love how easy it is to use, starting with yacht owners who can focus on the real things that they love doing, which is everything else but managing a calendar!

How do Yacht Owners subscribe to the Registry?
The Registry is managed by the Global Vessel Assessment Program (GVAP). A yacht is posted on the Registry once the owner or representative has been interviewed by a registered Qualified Assessor (QA).
The QA will deliver a Certificate of Assessment, which owners can proudly display in their yacht. The evaluation is objective and non-biased, entirely based on the Vessel Assessment Standard, a proprietary document of the GVAP.
Note: the Certificate of Assessment is not a Survey, it serves a different purpose. For example, we don't measure humidity in fiberglass, but we do check for minimal safety equipment on board.
The assessment renders a complex rating which ressembles something like "(S)M2-C". This coding represents several key elements such as defining whether it is a sailing or motor yacht, a mono- or multi-hull, indicating a length category, and lastly, assigning a letter which represents a star rating much like hotels or restaurants are given. For consumers shopping on the Registry, they will not need to understand the rating system, but rather will be able to filter as per their personal preferences.
The Registry will contain information such as the yacht name, the service offered (eg. all inclusive or not, general information and any details wished by the owner), pictures as per the requirements in the standard, and of course, a calendar of availability and who to contact to book the vacation. Eventually, reservation services will be offered.
First Step for Yacht Owners
Contact us to find your closest Qualified Assessor. You can also check with your preferred charter company, and even with your marina since some will offer this service.
The QA will then take an appointment with you and it takes about 1 to 2 hours to complete the assessment. Note that assessments must be renewed yearly to ensure proper representation in the Registry.
